Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

My deepest and innermost prayer is one that was offered by a heart filled with love:

Oh Divine One, Holiest of Holies, Creator of All, Most High Source… make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, let me sow pardon.
Where there is doubt, let me sow faith.
Where there is despair, let me sow hope.
Where there is darkness, let me sow light.
Where there is sadness, let me sow joy.

O Holy One, Giver of Life, Redeemer of Hope and Peace…
Grant that I may seek to comfort, rather than be comforted;
to understand, rather than be understood;
to love, rather than be loved.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amiyn (Sealed in Faith and Love)

Adapted from the prayer that is postulated as the Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi.  No copyright infringement is intended. My intention is of pure heart; to share a prayer that has deepened my understanding of surrender and walking in faith. It is a prayer that I share with great love and enthusiasm; for, it always centers me and brings me back to heart. May all those who encounter it experience the same expansion. Love and light to you all.
